Standing on the right is an unidentified police officer. The sign reads, "Connie Mack Field Home of West Palm Beach Indians Florida International League and the Philadelphia Athletics." A newspaper clipping is affixed to the back of the photograph (not shown) states, "Name Synonymous With Baseball West Palm Beach, Fla.: Connie Mack, 89-year-old president of the Philadelphia Athletics, stands beside sign designed to go over the entrance of the newly named Connie Mack Field. It formerly was known as Wright Field.3-25-52." Based on the newspaper clipping this photograph was taken on March 25, 1952.
