DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Connie Mack captured as he is laying down on a stretcher being wheeled out. Mack is bundled in a blanket. A newspaper clipping is affixed to the back of the photograph (not shown) and states, "Connie Comes Home, A Sick Man Described by his physician as 'very seriously ill', Connie Mack, 76-year-old manager of the Philadelphia Athletics, is shown on a stretcher as he arrived in Philadelphia, July 2 from Boston. He was stricken with acute indigestion, June 29.7-2-39." Based on the newspaper clipping this photograph was taken on July 2, 1939.
