DescriptionA typed letter from Alexander Cleland to Commissioner Landis, December 12, 1938. This is a copy of the original letter kept by Cleland, in poor condition. It is addressed to "Honorable Kenesaw M. Landis" with his Chicago address. Cleland writes to inform the commissioner that he is pleased to accept the honor of membership on the National Baseball Centennial Commission. He writes, "I feel quite sure the Centennial Commission will demonstrate to the American public that baseball is the National Game." This copy of the letter is not signed. The verso (not shown) is blank.
