DescriptionA typed letter from Tris Speaker to Alexander Cleland, August 30, 1937. The letterhead at the top reads "Tris Speaker, Cleveland, Ohio," with the date below and to the right. To the left it reads "Mr. Alexander Cleland, Secretary, Baseball Museum and Centennial, 149 Broadway, New York, N.Y." The word "Broadway" is misspelled on the letter. Speaker writes to let Cleland know that he is visiting his home state of Texas in September and will go through his "souvenirs" and see what he can send to the Baseball Hall of Fame. He also writes that his delay in making a contribution is due to his serious accident. It is signed "Tris Speaker." The verso (not shown) is blank.
