DescriptionA black-and-white, head and shoulder, photograph of Charlie Gehringer captured looking straight ahead with a slight smile on his face. He is dressed in a suit. A newspaper clipping is affixed to the back of the photograph and states, "Charlie Gehringer, former Tiger ball player was today named general manager and vice president of the Detroit ball club. He will succeed Billy Evans who is retiring on October 1st." Based on the newspaper clipping this photograph was published on July 28, 1951.
