Priddy, Robinson, Rolfe and Trout are dressed in the Detroit Tigers road uniform whereas Gehringer is dressed in a suit as he had been recently named the general manager of the Tigers. A newspaper clipping is affixed to the back of the photograph and states, "Charley Gehringer (center), new general manager of the Detroit Tigers, chats with members of the team in dugout before start of game with the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium, New York City, Aug. 2. Left to right are: Gerry Priddy, second baseman; Aaron Robinson, catcher; Gehringer, who played second for Tigers for many years; Manager Red Rolfe; and Dizzy Trout, pitcher."
