DescriptionA black-and-white, head and shoulder, photograph of Charlie Gehringer captured while speaking on the telephone with a grin on his face. Gehringer is dressed in a suit. A newspaper clipping is affixed to the front of the photograph and states, "...and general manager of the Detroit Tigers,...today (7/28). He will be succeeded by ex-Tiger...as second baseman for 18 years." Based on the newspaper clipping and Gehringer's time with the Detroit Tigers this photograph was taken on July 28, 1951.
