DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Freddie Fitzsimmons with Blanche McGraw as he talks to her at the edge of the stadium seating before the New York Giants played against the Brooklyn Dodgers and lost 0-10 at the Polo Grounds on October 2nd, 1951. Both Fitzsimmons and McGraw are smiling and holding hands as they pose. Fitzsimmons is dressed in the New York Giants home uniform. A newspaper clipping is affixed to the back of the photograph (not shown) reads, "Freddy Fitzsimmons, erstwhile Giant great and now a Giant coach, talks with Mrs. John McGraw, widow of the former Giant manager in Polo Grounds, New York, Oct. 2 prior to second game of playoff series for the National League Pennant." Based on the newspaper clipping this photograph was taken on October 2, 1951.
