DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of John McGraw captured with a look of concentration on his face as he has both hands placed on his knees and is wearing his baseball glove on his right hand. McGraw is dressed in the Baltimore Orioles home uniform with a sweater over the top. A newspaper clipping is affixed to the back of the photograph (not shown) reads, "This is John McGraw, 21-year-old, and a star for Baltimore Orioles. In 1894, Giants fans shrieked with glee when his error in Temple Cup series helped New York to victory." An additional newspaper clipping is affixed to the back of the photograph (not shown) reads, "...looked long ago when he was with 'Baltimore Orioles' And now they are celebrating the fact for twenty five years he has been in charge of the..." Based on the first newspaper clipping this photograph was taken in approximately 1894.
