DescriptionA black-and-white series of photographs of Mel Ott captured as he practices his batting swing. In the top left photograph, Ott is looking ahead with a straight face and is captured in his batter's stance. In the bottom left photograph, Ott is standing slightly bent over with his arms extended out in front of him and he is holding his baseball bat out. In the top right photograph, he is looking ahead with a serious expression and is standing in his batter's stance. In the bottom right photograph, Ott is captured leaning forward while holding his baseball bat over his right shoulder. Ott is dressed in a New York Giants home uniform in all four of the photographs. Based on Ott's uniform and his time with the Giants this series of photographs were taken in approximately 1928.
