DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Mel Ott captured in his batting stance. Ott has his right leg lifted up and his arms held back as he is holding a baseball bat. He is looking forward with a straight face. An unidentified stadium is in the background. An unidentified player is walking towards the stands in the background. Ott is dressed in a New York Giants uniform. A newspaper clipping is affixed to the back of the photograph (not shown) and states, "On the same kick: Although he never saw...as another homer hero, the late Mel Ott, to pa...of the Giants was the most prolific National Le[ague]..." Based on Ott's uniform and his time with the Giants, this photograph was taken in either 1936 or 1937.
