Mel Ott and Children photograph

Date1942 January
DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Mel Ott playing on the see-saw with his two daughters, Barbara Ann and Lyn, as their pet dog attempts to join in on the fun as well. Ott and Barbara Ann both have smiles on their faces. The family home is in the background. A newspaper clipping is affixed to the back of the photograph (not shown) and states, "A friendly push...The new manager of a New York Giants, Mel Ott, gets an assist from his dog Buster while see-sawing with his children, Lyn and Barbara, in the backyard of his house on the outskirts of New Orleans. It is his off season home. Their summer home is at Riverdale on the Hudson, an equally quiet spot some 20 minutes drive from the Polo Grounds...1-21-42." Based on the newspaper clipping, this photograph was taken on January of 1942.
