DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of, from left to right, Stuffy McInnis, Frank Baker, Eddie Collins and Jack Barry captured smiling while standing arm in arm in front of a dug out. McInnis is dressed in the Boston Red Sox 1922 home uniform. Baker is dressed in the New York Yankees home uniform. Collins is dressed in the home uniform. Barry is dressed in the College of the Holy Cross uniform. All four gentlemen played together for the Philadelphia Athletics in the early 1910s. The caption on the back of the photograph states, "With the death of Eddie Collins, baseball fans today were talking of the great $100,000 infield of Connie Mack's Athletics. Here are the famous four, at Boston in 1939, suited up for an old-timers' game. Stuffy McInnis, first base; Frank (Home Run) Baker, third base; Collins, second base; and Jack Barry, shortstop." Based on the caption, this photograph was taken in 1939.
