St. Louis Browns versus Brooklyn Grays scorecard

DescriptionThe scorecard is from the Detroit Wolverines vs. New York Giants game on May 26, 1887 at the Polo Grounds in Manhattan, New York. With newspaper research and box scores it was determined that this game was played on May 26, 1887. New York won by a score of 7 to 6. The scorecard was printed with black ink, and filled in with pencil. The scorecard opens horizontally. On the scorecard there are advertisements for Mutual Accident Ass'n, Harlem and Westchester Clothing Co., and The Hannis Distilling Co. The front cover has a color image on a blue background of a base runner standing on base with his hands on his knees. The caption at the bottom reads "NOW YOU GO." At the top and the bottom of the page is an advertisement for Old Judge cigarettes. On the sides starting in the lower left it reads "The Professional ball players of the New York team and all." The back cover is a week long schedule of games for the New York team.
