Harvey Haddix glove

DescriptionBrown leather right-handed glove with four finger stalls, a thumb stall and a piece of leather connecting the thumb and forefinger stalls as webbing. Tops of the finger stalls are connected by a leather lace. Palm side bottom edge is lined with metal grommets and leather laces. "Harvey Haddix / The Kitten" is stamped on the palm side of the pinky stall and "Rawlings" is stamped on the palm side heel. The back side of the glove has an opening at the base of the finger stalls with a wrist strap fastened with a metal button. There is a red "Rawlings" manufacturers label in the center of the wrist strap and "Snugger Adjustment" stamped to the right with leather laces for size adjustment. Top of the metal button has "Rawlings" in red cursive lettering. Back side of the pinky stall has patent information along with "Adjustable Floating Heel" stamped into the leather and "H.H." handwritten in black ink. There is also patent information stamped into the back side of the thumb stall and also on the back side of the webbing along with "Anchor Web" above.
Bio/Historical NoteGlove used by Harvey Haddix of the Pittsburgh Pirates on May 26, 1959, when he pitched 12 innings of perfect baseball, before losing to the Milwaukee Braves in the 13th, 1-0. An error in the bottom of the 13th ended Haddix's perfect game, and three batters later he lost both the no-hitter and the game when Braves slugger Joe Adcock drove in the winning run.
