Fergie Jenkins glove

DescriptionBrown leather left-handed fielder's glove with four finger stalls and a thumb stall connected by a piece of leather as webbing. Finger stalls are connected by leather laces. Leather laces line the top edge of the webbing, the palm side pinky stall, the palm side thumb stall and the palm side heel. Leather laces and metal grommets line the palm side heel edge. Palm side has several manufacturer stamps, "Basket-Web / Heart of the Hide / Fastback Model / Pro-2-B-F." Back side of the glove has an opening at the base of the finger stalls with "FastBack / Model / Holdster" and patent information stamped above. Base of the thumb stall on the back side has "31" handwritten in black marker and a circular red manufacturer logo patch. "Edge-U-Cated Heel / AECO1" is stamped on the back side of the thumb stall. Wrist strap fastens and adjusts with a leather strap and metal buckle. There is a red manufacturer label above the wrist strap at the base of the ring finger and pinky finger stalls. "Fergie" is handwritten in black marker on the back side of the pinky stall.

Bio/Historical NoteInfielder's baseball glove used by pitcher Ferguson Jenkins during his career with the Chicago Cubs. Jenkins was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1991.
