DescriptionLeather left-handed fielder's glove with four finger stalls and a thumb stall connected with a piece of basket-weave leather as webbing. Finger stalls are connected by leather laces at the tips.
Leather laces line the top edge of the webbing as well as the heel edge. Leather laces also run along the palm side lower edge of the webbing, vertically on the pinky stall, vertically on the thumb stall and along the heel. Palm side of the webbing has "Gasket-Web" in dark lettering along with a patent number. Pocket has several stamps, including "Rawlings," "Heart of the Hide," "For the Professional Player" and "Pro SP-B." Back side of the glove has an opening at the base of the finger stalls and a gold and red manufacturer label on the wrist strap. Wrist strap fastens with a knotted leather lace. "Sandberg" is handwritten in black marker along the back side of the thumb stall and also handwritten in black ink near the red and white circular "Rawlings" logo at the base of the thumb stall. "OE09 / Gold Glove Series" is stamped on the back side of the thumb stall.

Bio/Historical NoteGlove used by Ryne Sandberg of the Chicago Cubs during the 1990 season when he played his 92nd consecutive game without an error on April 12, 1990 and when he handled his 480th consecutive chance without an error on April 22, 1990, setting Major League records for second basemen.
