Letter and Invitation from Commissioner Bud Selig to Stan Musial

DescriptionA typed letter from Commissioner Bud Selig to Stan Musial, dated September 23, 1999. Mr. Selig writes to congratulate him on being named to the All-Century Team. He writes that more than 2 million fans and a panel of experts participated in choosing the team. It's a team of the 30 greatest. He states that this team will be honored prior to Game 2 of the World Series, October 24th. He tells him he will soon be receiving the invitation detailing the weekend. It is signed "Sincerely, Bud." The top of the page has the logo "100 Years of Baseball, All-Century Team." The invitation and itinerary cover reads, "MasterCard Presents Major League Baseball All-Century Team" with the MLB logo at the bottom. The inside left, has the itinerary for October 23rd and 24th. The right side has a typed letter written by Kathleen T. Francis, Marketing, Vice President for MLB. She writes that Mr. Musial is cordially invited as a member of the All-Century Team to Game 2 of the World Series, to be honored prior to the game. If he chooses to arrive October 23rd, a ticket to Game 1 will be provided. She informs him that a MLB representative will be contacting him to make travel arrangements.
