DescriptionA black-and-white triple photograph of Connie Mack consisting of three portraits throughout his career. The image on the left shows Mack at the beginning of his career, the center portrait was captured in 1950, and the image on the right in 1954. Mack is dressed in suits in all three pictures. A newspaper clipping is affixed to the back of the photograph (not shown) and states, "'Grand Old Man of Baseball' Dead Philadelphia: Connie Mack, 'Grand Old Man of Baseball,' who died here February 8th at home of a daughter, is pictured at three stages during in his long career. Photo at left shows him at the start of his managerial career near the turn of the century. At center, Mack is depicted as a 'holler guy,' as he gets set for his fiftieth year as Philadelphia Athletic's manager in 1950. At right, he beams after being named 'honorary president' of the club in 1954 after a syndicate bought out the Mack interests prior to the team's transfer to Kansas City.2/8/56."
