DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of catcher, Jim Hegan, right, handing pitcher, Bob Feller, left, the game baseball after Feller successfully pitched his third no-hitter in his career on July 1, 1951 when the Cleveland Indians faced the Detroit Tigers in game one of a double header and won 2 to 1. The Cleveland Indians third baseman, Al Rosen, baseball is visible in the background as he excitedly runs towards Hegan and Feller. Feller, Hegan and Rosen are dressed in the Cleveland Indians home uniform. The Cleveland Municipal Stadium is partially visible in the background. A newspaper clipping affixed to the front of the photograph (not shown) reads, "Cleveland Indians pitcher Bob Feller (R) is given the winning baseball from today's (7/1) game by catcher Jim Hegan after winning the third no-hit game of his major league career. Feller won the game, 2-1, with the Detroit Tigers scoring their only run on two Indian errors in the 4th inning. Al Rosen (extreme left), Indians third baseman, runs in to congratulate Feller." Based on the caption this photograph was taken on July 1, 1951.
