DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Bob Feller, right, and Bill Veeck captured as they negotiate Feller's salary. Veeck is seated in front of a desk and is holding papers in his hand with a small smile as Feller looks on with a large grin. A newspaper clipping affixed to the back of the photograph (not shown) reads, "It looks as if contract negotiations between Bill Veeck, president of the Cleveland Indians, and his ace fireballer, Bobby Feller, are coming along smoothly as they discuss Feller's salary demands for the 1947 in Veeck's hotel room in Cleveland. The fellows that know the 'inside' about everything say that Feller expects more than the $70,000 he received last year, when he broke the modern strike record." Based on the newspaper clipping this photograph was taken on December 30, 1946.
