DescriptionA black-and-white full-length photograph of Grover Cleveland Alexander in his follow through position. On the mound, facing the camera, Alexander wears a Philadelphia Phillies road uniform. Adopting a modified lunge position, Alexander supports his weight on his bent, front left leg with his straight right leg extended backwards. He leans over his left leg, resting his right arm on his left knee. Alexander holds his gloved left hand on his left side. Turning his head to his right, he looks forward to a point to the left of the camera. Captured on the field, several teammates and an occupied stadium are visible in the background. Based on the specific design of the uniform worn by Alexander, this image was captured in 1913 or 1914. The handwriting is original to the negative.
