Grover Cleveland Alexander Posed Action photograph

Dateprobably 1926
DescriptionA black-and-white full-length posed action photograph of Grover Cleveland Alexander. Shown in profile, Alexander wears a St. Louis Cardinals road uniform. Standing on his front left leg, Alexander rests only the toe of his right shoe on the ground. Holding his gloved left hand down by his side, Alexander extends his right arm across his body waist height. He looks forward to a point to the left of the camera. Captured on the field, an unoccupied stadium is visible in the background. Based on the specific design of the uniform worn by Alexander and similar images taken during this period, this photograph was probably captured in 1926. A similar version of this photograph exists as BL-379-68
