Mordecai Brown fob chain

DescriptionThree gold medallions attached to a length of gold chain with a clasp on the end. The bottom medallion is the largest and they get progressively smaller as they get nearer to the chain. Bottom medallion has a depiction of a globe in the center with an animal head holding a gem in its mouth. "World's Champions" and "1907" in raised lettering on the front. Back side of the bottom medallion has "Presented to / Mordecai Brown / Member / Chicago National League / Ball Club / by / The National Commission for Winning the 1907 World Base Ball Championship" in inscribed lettering. Middle medallion has a depiction of a baseball in the center with a Y shape of baseball bats and a gem in the center. "Chicago / Champions / 1906" in raised lettering. Back side of the middle medallion has "Presented to Mordecai Brown / By National Commission" in inscribed lettering. Top medallion, the smallest, has a gem in the center with "World's Champions / 1908." Back side of this medallion has "M. Brown" in inscribed lettering. Each medallion is attached to each other by loops attached to the tops and bottoms.
Bio/Historical NoteHall of Fame pitcher Mordecai "Three-Finger" Brown earned three medallions while with the Chicago Cubs - one each for winning the 1908 and 1907 World Series (top and bottom) and one medal for the Cubs' city championship victory over the White Sox in 1906 (middle). Brown had a jeweler chain together his trio of diamond-studded league and world championship pendants to create this ornate, golden watch fob.
