DescriptionChicago Colts Official Scorecard, 1897. The scorecard is from a Baltimore Orioles vs. Chicago Colts game played in 1897. The scorecard is printed with black ink and is not filled out. The Chicago side of the scorecard has advertisements for The Mechanical Rubber Co., Pabst, Vim Cycle Co., and Napoleon Bicycles. The Baltimore side of the scorecard has advertisements for Thistle Bicycle, Sweet, Wallach & Co., Sterling Bicycles, and Wrigley's Juicy Fruit. The front cover is in color and has four baseball bats laid out in a diamond shape. At what would be second base is a black-and-white portrait photograph of Jim Hart, on the pitcher's mound is a large black-and-white portrait of Clark Griffith, and at home plate is a black-and-white portrait photograph of John Albert Brown. The front cover reads "Official Score Card Chicago 1897" and has various advertisements. The back cover is in color and in the middle has a black-and-white portrait photograph of Charlie Ganzel. In the background is a drawing of action on a baseball field and various advertisements.
