Pam Schaffrath helmet

DescriptionNavy blue plastic batting helmet, size 7 1/8, with ear guards on both sides and a red and white "SB" with flying baseball logo sticker on the front. There is a white "R" logo on the proper left ear guard. Interior has padding around ear guards, at rear, top crown and sweatband. A square of tan medical tape has been adhered to the underside of the bill with the number "27" handwritten on it. Interior has sizing sticker, a raised lettering "Warning" section on the inner brim and "Meets NOCSAE standard" in raised lettering at the rear.

Bio/Historical NoteBatting helmet worn by utility player Pam Schaffrath of the Colorado Silver Bullets during her time with the team from 1994 to 1996. In 1994, the Colorado Silver Bullets began a four-year stint as an all-women's pro baseball team. Managed by Hall of Fame pitcher Phil Niekro, the women played men's teams across the country.
