DescriptionGold Baltimore Orioles 1970 World Series championship ring that was given to Commissioner Bowie Kuhn. The ring's face bears an image of a stadium with a clear stone in the center and "Orioles" in script lettering below. Side bears a profile image of a flying eagle with a red, white and blue enamel banner in its mouth. Below is a white enamel baseball with "1966 / 1970 Champions / 1959" in gold. Ball is surrounded by a blue enamel ring with gold stars. The other side bears a black and orange enamel Orioles cap with raised lettering "1970 / B. Kuhn" along with an image of a bat, ball and glove. There are manufacturer markings on the inner band.
Bio/Historical NoteThe Baltimore Orioles defeated the Cincinnati Reds four game to one to win the 1970 World Series. Bowie Kuhn served as Major League Baseball's fifth commissioner from 1969 to 1984, and was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2008.
