DescriptionGold Philadelphia Phillies 1980 World Series championship ring given to Commissioner Bowie Kuhn. The ring has a rounded square face featuring a "P" consisting of eight diamonds set in red stone. A raised border reading "World Champions - Philadelphia Phillies" wraps around the stones. One arm has "1980" above the World Series trophy. The other arm has "Kuhn" over Veterans Stadium.
Bio/Historical NoteThe Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Kansas City Royals four games to two to win the 1980 World Series. Bowie Kuhn served as Major League Baseball's fifth commissioner from 1969 to 1984, and was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2008.
