DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Eddie Plank captured warming up on the sidelines of the baseball field. Plank is looking over his left shoulder with a serious expression on his face after releasing his pitch. His left arm is extended out in front of him while his right arm is down by his side. Plank's right foot is firmly on the ground whereas his left foot is barely touching the ground. Plank is dressed in a Philadelphia Athletics road uniform. Plank was a left handed pitcher for the Athletics from 1901 through 1914. An unidentified teammate is standing off to the side of him watching the throw. Another unidentified teammate is visible standing at the edge of the dugout. An unidentified stadium and dugout are visible in the background. Numerous fans are visible throughout the stadium seating. Based on Plank's uniform and his time with the Athletics this photograph was taken between 1909 and 1912.
