DescriptionA black-and-white photograph, from left to right, of Pee Wee Reese, Walter O'Malley and Walter Alston of the Brooklyn Dodgers Captured captured as they cut into the 1955 Championship cake after defeating the New York Yankees in the 1955 World Series. All three gentlemen have large smiles on their faces and are dressed in suits. The five layer cake features a Brooklyn Dodgers player figurine on top. A caption is on the back of the photograph and states, "Brooklyn Dodgers Victory Dinner at Roosevelt Hotel in NY. Just after the cutting of the cake photograph, Dodgers President Walter F. O'Malley announced that manager Walter Alston was to be retained as Manager of the Dodgers for 1956. L to R - Captain Pee Wee Reese, Mr. Walter O'Malley, and Manager Walter Alston." Based on the caption this photograph was taken on October 26, 1955.
