DescriptionNavy blue plastic helmet, size 7 3/8, with proper right ear protector and a red team logo decal on the front. There is a "22" decal in white on the top of the bill in the center. Rear of the helmet has three stickers, including "Whiten," an MLB logo and an "ABC" logo. Interior front has a sizing sticker, on which is handwritten "22" in black ink. "7 3/8" has been handwritten in black ink below the size sticker. "92" has been handwritten in black ink on the warning label on the interior proper left side. "92" is also handwritten in black ink to the right of the warning label. Circular gray high density foam pad is attached to the interior top crown as well as padding at the rear and around ear protector.
Bio/Historical NoteBatting helmet worn by St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Mark Whiten on September 7, 1993 versus the Cincinnati Reds when he hit four home runs and drove in 12 RBI's. He tied Jim Bottomley's record for RBI's in a game and became the 12th major leaguer to hit four homers in one game.
