DescriptionWooden hand-carved baseball bat, 20 ounces, with 12 inches of tape on the handle and illegible lettering in black ink on the center of the barrel.
Bio/Historical NoteBat fashioned from a tree limb and used to play baseball by American internees during a five month detainment at the Grand Hotel in Bad Nauheim, Germany during World War II under the eyes of Nazi Gestapo guards. Internees included U.S. Embassy Officials, diplomats, and the Press.
