Bob Feller in Uniform Portrait photograph

Datebetween 1945 April-August 21
DescriptionA black-and-white posed portrait photograph of Bob Feller wearing a naval dress uniform. Feller, shown from the chest up, sits with his right side angled slightly away from the camera. Feller is looking into the distance over his left shoulder. The featured naval dress uniform is identifiable by the exaggerated lapel and the double breasted design. In addition, Feller wears a white visor cap with the United States Navy insignia on the front. The color indicates that Feller enlisted. Visible on his uniform are ribbons earned during his service. The stiff, posed nature of the photograph along with the flat lighting indicate that this was shot in a professional studio. NAVAL TRAINING CENTER GREAT LAKES, ILLINOIS is stamped on the reverse (not shown) in black ink, indicating the location where this photo was taken. Also stamped on the reverse (not shown) in black ink is information indicating that this image is an official Navy photograph.
