Reggie Jackson World Series glove

DescriptionLight brown leather right-handed fielder's glove with four finger stalls and one thumb stall. Crisscross leather laces connect the top edges of the finger stalls to one another. Webbing between the thumb and forefinger stalls consists of two horizontal pieces of leather and one vertical piece. Palm side of the glove has several markings, including "For the Professional Player," "Fastball," "Heart of the Hide," "XFG 1H," "Rawlings" and "Made in the USA." Palm side base of the glove has metal grommets and laces. The back side of the glove has a rectangular red manufacturer label between the thumb and index finger, "Rawlings." "Edge-U-Cated Heel" and patent number are printed on the back side of the thumb stall. There is a hole at the base of the forefinger stall which is lined with laces. "Fastbreak," "Patent Applied For," and "Holdster" are all imprinted above this hole. "Pat. No. 3.321.771" is imprinted on the back side of the pinky stall. There are two metal hooks on the backside of the glove to secure the adjustable strap across the bottom. There are five holes punctured above the adjustable strap of the glove.
Bio/Historical NoteGlove used by Oakland A's outfielder Reggie Jackson during the 1973 World Series. The A's won the second of three straight World Championships that year.
