DescriptionNavy blue cap, size 7 1/8, with an orange star embroidered on the front and a white "H." Underside of the bill is green with "34" and "Nolan Ryan" autographed in black ink. Interior tan leather sweatband has three manufacturer labels at the rear center.
Bio/Historical NoteCap worn by Houston Astros pitcher Nolan Ryan when he recorded his 4,000th career strikeout on July 11, 1985 at the Astrodome against the New York Mets. Ryan became the first pitcher to record 4,000 strikeouts, fanning Danny Heep in the sixth inning of Houston's 4-3 win over the Mets.
