DescriptionWhite polyester v-neck shirt, size 42, with "Angels / 29" on the front in red and navy blue appliques. Neckline and sleeves have red and navy blue striped knit edging. Proper left front shirttail has a manufacturer label, "Wilson," with size and care information. There is a white label to the left of this with "85" in black embroidery. Interior back of the neck is signed in black ink, "Rod Carew / 3000th hit / 8/4/85." Proper left sleeve has a patch depicting the state of California with a gold star and gold halo. Proper right sleeve has a circular patch with "1961 / 1985 / 25th," the team logo with a navy blue baseball background and gold edging. Reverse of the shirt has "Carew / 29" in red and navy blue appliques.
Bio/Historical NoteShirt worn by California Angels' infielder Rod Carew when he achieved his 3,000th hit on August 4, 1985 off of Frank Viola of the Minnesota Twins at Anaheim Stadium. The Angels defeated the Twins 6-5.
