DescriptionRed mesh cap with a solid red front panel and "R" embroidered in white on the front. There is an opening at the rear center above a plastic snap closure for size adjustment. Underside of the bill is green with "Grilli" handwritten in black ink near the seam. Interior black cotton sweatband on the interior has a manufacturer label on the proper left side.
Bio/Historical NoteCap worn by Steve Grilli of the Rochester Red Wings, the losing pitcher in the longest game in baseball history between the Rochester Red Wings and the Pawtucket Red Sox. The game began on April 18, 1981 and lasted 32 innings before being stopped, with play to resume later in the season. On June 23, 1981 the game resumed with it only taking one additional inning to settle the game as Pawtucket won it by a score of 3-2 in the bottom of the 33rd inning.
