DescriptionHockey-style catcher's mask with a vinyl-covered wire cage mounted to a dark blue and white fiberglass face and head cover. There is a leather chin pad along with foam and black mesh-covered pads in the forehead and crown areas. The mask has been signed in silver marker, "Molina," on the front middle forehead portion. A fiberglass skull cap is attached to the face mask with a black nylon mesh strap. Back of the head cover has three stickers, including "All-Star," "NOCSAE" and a warning label with "MVP3000." Interior leather pads are attached with hook-and-loop fasteners and are removable.
Bio/Historical NoteHockey-style catcher's mask worn by Jose Molina of the New York Yankees during the 2009 World Series from October 28, 2009 to November 4, 2009. The Yankees defeated the Philadelphia Phillies, 4 games to 2, to win their 27th World Series championship.
