Joe West umpire mask

DescriptionFace mask with a molded metal frame, painted black, and two foam vinyl-covered light tan pads attached to the inner side of the frame, one at the top forehead area and one along the lower chin and jaw area. The pads are attached by hook-and-loop straps. There is a black fabric and elastic head piece attached at the rear to either side of the metal frame and at the top center by black leather straps and plastic buckles. There is an MLB logo on the horizontal strap where the vertical strap intersects. "Wilson" is printed in black lettering on the proper left side front of the top forehead pad. There is a black and yellow vertical manufacturer label attached to one of the hook-and-loop straps at the lower front center.

Bio/Historical NoteMask worn by major league umpire Joe West during his first game worked of the 2020 regular season on July 24th. It stretched his major league umpiring career into its sixth different decade.
