Grover Cleveland Alexander Posed Pitching photograph

Date1928
DescriptionA black-and-white full-length posed photograph of Grover Cleveland Alexander pitching. Facing the camera, Alexander wears a St. Louis Cardinals road uniform. Alexander stands with both arms over his head, he wears a glove on his left hand and grips a ball in his right. He looks forward to a point in the distance and to the right of the camera. Taken on the field, an unoccupied stadium is visible in the background. Pasted on the reverse (not shown) is a published newspaper clipping of this image. Based on the uniform worn by Alexander and a comparison with a similar version of this photograph, this image was captured in 1928. An additional copy exists.
