DescriptionA full-length color photograph of Don Mattingly fielding. Shown in 3/4 profile, Mattingly wears New York Yankees home uniform pants, a baseball cap, and a Yankees t-shirt. Wearing a warm-up sleeve on his right arm, Mattingly stands with legs bent and feet apart. With both arms bent, waist height, Mattingly leans forward, looking to a point below and to the left of the camera. Wearing a baseball glove on his right hand, Mattingly rests his left hand in the palm of the glove. In the background, advertisements on the outfield wall are visible. In the bottom left corner of the image is a Major League Baseball product sticker as well as a MLB Players sticker. Based on the specific uniform pants worn by Mattingly this photograph was most probably captured before a home game. Based on Mattingly's playing career and when this photograph was accessioned, the photo was most likely taken between 1982 and 1989.
