Josephine Morhard whistle

DescriptionSilver-colored metal whistle with a metal loop one one end for hanging from a string. There is a dark-colored rubber ball within the whistle. The mouthpiece has two raised bars on both the top and bottom, near the end. "Made in U.S.A." is engraved on the underside of the mouthpiece. There is a manufacturer stamp on one side of the cylindrical body of the whistle.
Bio/Historical NoteWhistle used by Josephine Morhard, who founded boys' baseball leagues, modeled on the Major Leagues, during the Great Depression. These included the Junior American League, Junior National League, and the Little Indians, modeled after the Cleveland Indians.
