Frankie Frisch glove

DescriptionDark brown leather left-handed glove with four finger stalls and a thumb stall. There are leather laces looped through metal grommets lining the sides of the forefinger and thumb stalls as webbing. Back side has an opening at the base of the finger stalls with a wrist strap having two buttonholes and a metal button for fastening. There is a "Spalding" manufacturer label on the wrist strap opposite the button. Button has "Spalding" engraved on the top.
Bio/Historical NoteUsing this Spalding glove in 1927, Cardinals second baseman Frankie Frisch set a pair of major league fielding records at the position, with 641 assists and 1,037 chances accepted (putouts plus assists).
