Is That Th' Reason? Hey Bert - C'm'ere I Think I've Found One! cartoon

Dateundated
DescriptionA matted pencil-drawn cartoon by Little Willy King that is separated into two panels. The left panel shows a college or university football player about to catch a football. His helmet has the initials "U.C." The background has players on a bench with a banner over them that reads "Southeastern Conference Teams." The caption above the player reads, "If I let those fellows play with my ball, maybe they'll get me into their league." The right panel shows Joe Engel standing in an alligator swamp in Florida, holding a contract. His caption reads, "Hey Bert, c'm'ere, I think I've found one." Below him there's an alligator and text which reads, "Contrary to rumors, Joe Engel is hunting baseball talent and not alligators for local wrestling matches." In the center is a drawing of the artist and his signature, "Little Willy King" accompanied by the caption, "Is that th' reason?" The verso (not shown) is blank.
