Grover Cleveland Alexander composite photograph

Dateprobably 1926
DescriptionA black-and-white composite photograph of Grover Cleveland Alexander within an occupied stadium. Depicted above the crowd, in the center of the field, Alexander is shown in 3/4 profile from the knees up. He wears a St. Louis Cardinals road uniform. Alexander extends his right arm across his body waist height while resting his gloved left hand down by his side. He looks forward to a point in the distance and to the left of the camera. The artificial background consists of an occupied stadium and players on the field. A caption below this image (not shown) reads, "ALEXANDER = HERO of 1926." Based on the design of the uniform worn by Alexander and the included caption, this image was probably created in 1926.
