Pasted on the reverse (not shown), typed in black ink, is a caption that reads, "BACKING UP THE PITCHER: LEFTY GOMEZ (VESTLESS, CENTER), ACE YANKEE HURLER, BROUGHT HIS GANG TO COURT IN NEW YORK, MAY 4, FOR THE HEARING OF THE DIVORCE ACTION INSTITUTED BY HIS ACTRESS WIFE, JUNE O'DEA. THE CASE, HOWEVER, WAS ADJOURNED. THE PROCEEDINGS, LEFTY SAID, DON'T BOTHER HIM. THE ONLY TIME I'M WORRIED IS WHEN SOMEONE HITS A HOME RUN WITH THE BASES LOAD, HE LAUGHED. 230p 5-4-38."
