DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Monte Irvin, dressed in a New York Giants uniform, jogging into home plate. Based on Irvin and Dark's time with the Giants and the newspaper stamp on the reverse (not shown), this image was probably taken between 1950 and 1953. The image caption on the reverse reads, "Welcome Home: Alvin Dark, Giants' shortstop, greets Monte Irvin after the outfielder hit homer in Saturday's game with the San Francisco Seals. Irvin scored three runs with hit."
