DescriptionA black-and-white full-length action photograph of Willie Keeler bunting. Keeler, shown in profile, wears a New York Highlanders road uniform. Holding the bat across his body, chest height, Keeler places his left hand on the barrel and his right on the handle of the bat. Keeler looks forward to the oncoming ball that is visible just above his bat. The background is not original and portions of his uniform have been outlined to appear more legible for publication. Based on the specific design of the uniform worn by Keeler, this image was captured in 1905 or 1906. Stamped on the reverse (not shown) in purple ink, are the dates, "JAN 25 1938," and "JAN 29 1960." Pasted on the reverse (not shown) are two newspaper clippings that read, "WEE WILLIE KEELER N. Y. Americans acquisition," and "Willie Keeler, of the famous Baltimore Orioles;."
