Willie Keeler Batting photograph

Date1905 or 1906
DescriptionA black-and-white full-length action photograph of Willie Keeler batting. Facing the camera, Keeler wears a New York Highlanders road uniform. Captured mid-swing, Keeler supports his weight between his bent, front right leg and his straight, back left leg. Only the toe of his left shoe touches the ground. Placing left hand over right on the grip of the bat, Keeler holds the bat chest height in front of his body. He looks forward and down to a point to the right of the camera. Captured on a field, the outfield wall is visible in the distance. Based on the specific design of the uniform worn by Keeler, this image was captured between 1905 and 1906. Pasted on the reverse (not shown) is a newspaper clipping of this published image with various players' statistics. Stamped on this clipping (not shown), in purple ink, is the date, "APR 14 1946."
