DescriptionA sepia toned full-length action photograph of Roger Bresnahan at bat. Bresnahan, facing the camera, wears a New York Giants uniform. Adopting his batting stance, Bresnahan stands with feet apart and knees bent. Bresnahan supports the majority of his weight on his back right leg, only the toe of his left cleat touches the ground. Placing right hand over left on the handle of the bat, Bresnahan holds the the bat above his right shoulder. Bresnahan looks to his left, in the direction of the oncoming ball. Pictured to the left of Bresnahan is the umpire and catcher. Captured in-game, an occupied stadium can be seen in the background. Based on writing on the back (not shown), this image was captured in 1906, probably in August. 1906 was the sole year, during which Bresnahan played, that the Giants wore jerseys that celebrating their World Series win of the previous season.
